A professional association is only as strong as its membership, a byproduct of which is the affinity formed among peers to support and learn from each other. It is in this community of common interests that, over time, creates a base of knowledge that is shared and codified. The strength of the IPMA comes from both this affinity and the knowledge base that has shaped the organization and the profession. As such, the organization holds professional development as one of its core values as a way to continually contribute to and house our collective knowledge.

Recognizing the needs of our members, the IPMA provides opportunities and programs in a variety of platforms and modalities for all members regardless of experience and tenure.
